01 What Is the ECCA Opportunity?
A New Federal Scholarship Pathway
The Educational Choice for Children Act establishes a federal educational tax-credit program that allows eligible taxpayers to make qualifying contributions to approved Scholarship Granting Organizations.
Those organizations award scholarships to eligible students for qualified educational expenses in accordance with applicable program requirements.
For educational businesses, ECCA creates an additional purchasing pathway alongside state education programs and traditional retail sales. Curious Mind Marketplace is designed to bring funded and direct-pay purchasing together in one national marketplace.
02 How Does Educational Funding Reach Students?
From Contributions to Educational Purchases
Eligible taxpayers make qualifying contributions to approved Scholarship Granting Organizations such as Curious Mind SGO. Scholarship organizations then administer awards for students who meet the applicable eligibility requirements.
Approved scholarship funds can be used through Curious Mind Marketplace according to the student’s educational pathway and the requirements established by the participating scholarship organization.
Homeschool families may purchase approved educational products and services, private-school awards may support eligible tuition, and authorized public-school purchasers may obtain approved resources for participating students.
03 Who May Qualify for ECCA Scholarships?
Homeschool, Public, and Private-School Students
Students may qualify when they live in a participating state and their household income is at or below 300% of the applicable HUD Area Median Income for their household size and geographic area.
Families must complete the required application, submit supporting documentation, and successfully complete the eligibility review administered by the Scholarship Granting Organization.
Meeting the initial eligibility requirements does not guarantee an award. Scholarships remain subject to application review, available funding, and applicable program requirements.
